July at the Nod: the 2022 Summer Contemporary Dance Program is coming with excellent guests


Nod hosts the best international choreographers and teachers for four intensive weeks dedicated to Contemporary Dance





Nuova Officina della Danza, promoter of excellence and novelty, presents the July 2022 Summer Contemporary Dance Program, which will see the best international choreographers and teachers arriving in the city of Turin. As every year, the program is structured with the aim of leading young dancers in an experience capable of enriching their existing experience, and promoting body languages ​​that are among the most current in the international dance scene. In training to change repertoire and style, dancers expand their repertoire, finding themselves more prepared than before to recognize his own style and talent. The program, in fact, includes 2-3 Contemporary dance classes per day accompanied by Classical Ballet classes with Veli-Pekka Peltokallio and Gianluca Martorella.


During the first week, which runs from July 4th-8th, Nod will host Ella Rothschild who will lead the participants in search for the connections between language and movement, focusing on the communicative capacity of these tools and Brandon Lagaert, freelance choreographer who among other experiences is also a dancer for Peeping Tom, will open the month and will conduct his workshop "Lizards in Shoes" which incorporates various elements from different origins: theater, contemporary dance, popping and breaking are just some of the techniques incorporated.


From July 11th-15th, the Associate Artistic Director of the Hofesh Schechter Company, Bruno Guillore, Tom Weinberger dancer, freelance choreographer and Gaga teacher, together with Scott Jennings, freelance artist belonging to the most recent generation of dancers from Tanz theater Wuppertal Pina Bausch will be the guest artists for this week.


In addition during the third week, the wonderful, Olivia Ancona, multidisciplinary performer and one of the founding members of Sharon Eyal’s famous company L-E-V, will share Scott Jennings’ workshop for three hours a day in the week of July 19th-23rd.


To close this special Summer Program during the week from July 25th-30th, Eyal Dadon, multiple award-winning Israeli choreographer, together with the amazing James Finnemore and Elèonore Cabrera will be our guests at NOD.


The program is open to 25 dancers who are at least 18 years of age or older, regardless of gender, ethnicity or sexual orientation.
